I don't really know what to do with my life but sit here and mope on Bailey's computer...
Hopefully the doctors at Rescom will be able to fix my beloved computer.
Keep him in your prayers.

Right to Free Speech? Think Again...
Ok, so lately there has been a lot of controversy on free speech, or should I say the lack of our ability to express ourselves without fear of a tyrannical government stomping us down.
It has been really tough lately for free speech advocates. First off, there was the kid who got tasered because he was being pompous and didn't know when to shut up at a John Kerry speech,
and then you have CONGRESS vote to shut up MoveOn.org (an organization I support and have donated towards) because they posted an ad in the New York Times that put a spin on General Petraeus's name to General Betray-Us.
Congress ACTUALLY voted in favor of condemning MoveOn.org. That is shocking to me. How on earth could our Congress put an issue as small as a newspaper ad at the top of their voting priorities???
Because Congress has proved they are able to do NOTHING except bow down to King George the Second, I am advocating a total overthrow of the government through our votes in '08. We need to weed out all of the republican puppets and all of the spineless democrats and need to put in real, genuine politicians who care more about their image to the people rather than their string controlling President.
By the way, Russ Feingold voted against condemning the ad. So even through my anger and bitterness with Congress right now, at least Mr. Feingold STILL has his spine and knows that his vote reflects not only his genuine ideology but his care of protecting the American people and our rights.
Back in November of '06, we all were excited and sure that change was going to come...
But now, it is evident that our Congress has no backbone, they are weak and impure and should all lose their jobs.
There are three people in this crazy political world that I know of who really see the world in the eyes of the American People and their Constitution: Keith Olberman, respected news show host and commentator; Jon Stewart, an under appreciated satirical comedian from Comedy Central; and Russ Feingold, a United States Senator who has never voted in favor of protecting big interest groups and the richest of the rich--a man who looks out for the average American who feel they don't have a voice in this elitist controlled country.
So check out some other posts from those guys on this blog and they will give you their take on the horrid attack on our Constitution by the President and our Congress.

Now that Iraq is over, let's start in Iran!
You know what I love about Jon Stewart? He takes the saddest and most despicable points of the news and presents them in a way that is still as disappointing but ALSO humorous :)
Take a look as he talks about the crazy juice Mr. Lieberman has drank...

Olbermann on 9/11
Here he is again, this time on one of our most sacred days of memorial- September the 11th.
What a magnificent mind and ability to speak he has.

Wisconsin will pay...
This is probably one of the most heart breaking story that has hit me here at UWEC.
In the fall of 2006, I took Dr. Fosters Intermediate algebra class. The amount of confidence and assertiveness she instilled in me and my fellow classmates was incredibly great and comforting. The University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, the city of Eau Claire, and the state of Wisconsin has lost another great mind due to bigotry and hatred towards an issue that is highly misunderstood. Back in November, Wisconsin reelected a liberal governor, a liberal senator, all but one liberal representatives, and a liberal majority to the state senate yet voted YES on a constitutional ban on CIVIL UNIONS (notice I didn't say gay marriage--this wasn't a marriage act!)
How could Wisconsin, one of the most progressive states in the nation, vote to ban rights toward a certain group of law-abiding, society-contributing people?! Well, now Wisconsin will pay. Because of the hatred and ignorance that the voters showed on that tragic night, there are thousands of doctors, lawyers, educators, and civil workers who have packed their bags and left for a state that will accept them for who they are.
What I admired about Dr. Foster, is that she never caused a ruckus or commotion about her sexuality. She never dragged politics into her classroom or choices in her life decisions. She didn't leave Wisconsin to "prove her point" politically, she left for her son, Rhys. This child, would not have the same rights as a child in California in the state of Wisconsin thanks to the voters back in November of 2006. So if you voted YES on the ban or you know someone who did, remind them of the children they hurt directly and indirectly. Think of your own children, when the education and health care sector takes a hard hit in the next 10 years because certain professionals are denied rights to live a happy and prosperous life with a family in this state. Think of Rhys who has two mothers who had to worry about how they were going to go about taking care of him as a JOINT couple.
Dr. Foster cried the night of the election, and with good reason. I think maybe we all should look back to that night and take time out to cry ourselves.
Education is knowledge, knowledge is power...isn't it that easy to understand? Please Wisconsin, the next time you are presented the opportunity to deny a group of people certain rights, think about WHO those people are and the people they represent. This years Intermediate Algebra students will never experience the pleasure I received in Dr. Foster's class, and for them I have great sympathy. Dr. Foster, I love you and I wish you the best of luck with your new life, job, and family, all which you rightfully deserve as the hard working, society pillar that you are.

4th North, Oh the Fun has Just Begun
The year has begun and after the first official weekend here at EC, I'm assured that the semester is going to be amazing. I'm quite impressed by my ability to balance my outdoor activities and social events, with my extremely difficult yet intriguing classes. I know that this semester is going to be my best yet. I hope to be at the top of my game by the time I leave for Spain. :) Weight training better pay off, otherwise I want my $40 bucks back!
The floor is looking better than ever. Kari and Calvin are seriously cool and it is so nice to be living with all of the familiar faces and "storylines" of last year (Bailey and Kim, you can attest!) Along with the good friends from last year, brings along new friendships and that makes me even more excited. My next door neighbors are the kind of guys I would like to deliver a homemade bunt cake to. Aww shucks I hope they aren't reading this right now, I'll get all embarrassed... ;) love 'ya boys.
I hope to post much more on the fun and outrageous things that will occur on this floor or with these people. Not to mention I'd like to see if Tits McGee is going to be a reoccurring character on the floor this year!
Cheers to the Fall of 2007!

Keith Olbermann Speaks Out Once Again
Mr. Olbermann from MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" has once again made one of his infamous special comments that leaves one speechless and stirred with emotion. Bushies beware, Mr. Olbermann's comments are full of truth and sincereness.
The Greek Olive Branch Comes In Peace

The Greek Olive Branch is a colloquial term referring to a concession or a gesture of peace, as well as a peace symbol. Deriving from its origins in Ancient Greece as a symbol of peace and prosperity, the olive branch is used throughout many western cultures to convey the idea of peace. In Ancient Rome, the defeated carried olive branches in order to seek peace. There are some speculations as to why the olive branch came to symbolize peace. Some explanations center around the idea that olive trees take a very long time to bear fruit. Thus the cultivation of olives is something that is generally impossible in time of war.
I formally announce the creation of my blog. This my own little piece of property that coexists with so many others in the ever so growing cyberspace universe. I come in peace, with hopes that my readers/subscribers will see that my objection is not to manipulate or twist the minds of the uninformed or unknowing, but rather to show them my perspective on political, religious, cultural, and all other controversial issues in a peaceful and respectful way. I also hope to include humor and satirical looks on current and past (or even future) events.
I do take sides and I will be one sided on certain issues; as it is but human nature. My objective is to "blog" from my heart with a liberal and open-minded understanding of the events that unfold before us. I hope you can accept me for my views as I accept you for yours.
Now with no more introductory nonsense, I bring you my blog. Enjoy.
